What needs did the idea of using such an application meet ?
The first need was to be able to trace the entry and exit of stocks. This is a requirement for Certiphyto certification.
The second need was to make the data more reliable with a tool designed for stock management. Previously, we used a ZohoForm, but it was difficult to process the data in Excel format. In addition, we needed to know the stock level of each product in real time, which the old tool did not allow.
After having reviewed the different options, we turned to the Monstock tool, which allows stock management online and on a mobile application.
Usefulness: presentation of the advantages
Getting started: easy?
1. The first advantage is that implementation is easy: no need to install the software on PCs or SAPIAN servers. With a simple password, the application can be accessed anywhere via a web browser. We also opted for the mobile application in parallel to be able to carry out stock movements. With the application, there is no need to equip the warehouse with scanning devices: it is the phone that scans the barcodes. Finally, there is no need for wifi or Ethernet: everything is done via 4G.
2. Ease of use. After integrating the products into the tool and creating storage locations, the "Stock Adjustment" function can be used to make entries and exits, simply by scanning the barcode of the products and choosing to whom they are assigned.
3. A final advantage is that the end-of-month stocktaking is made easier: you simply have to check that the computer quantities match the physical quantities.
Thanks to the application's reports, one can have a history of the outflows over several months, which is very practical.
The application even allows for automatic procurement by linking EDI from suppliers and accounting, a feature we don't use because product demand is very variable, and the risk would be to have excess stock.
At SAPIAN we are currently using it on two sites in the Paris area.
Why would you recommend it ?
Its daily use and easy installation mean that we would recommend this application to all companies that need to manage their stock simply at their branches.
How do you get started ?
On the Monstock website, there are many tutorials to learn how to use each feature. The whole thing is very intuitive.
